A Note of Thanks

My hope in working with any family is to make them feel respected, valued, and welcome.  I believe that through all of the educational resources that we have any family can be a part of any community.  It’s my hope that in time our profession will empower the children of our future to accept everyone as equals.  I would like to pursue the social justice aspect of diversity and learn what types of proactive measures that I can take for the children of tomorrow.  As with each of my graduate classes, I have enjoyed my colleague’s comments, suggestions, and ideas.  Each of the people I have come to know is so unique and passionate about children and it makes me feel very honored to be included in this program.  Thank you all for a great class!

  1. Dear Haley, it would seem that we have all gained very similar insights through taking this course. I also hope that families will feel valued, welcome and above all respected within my community. We have such a big responsibility to ensure continuity and growth within social justice, equity and diversity. Empowering children to accept everyone as equals is a powerful goal. May your passion continue to drive your vision and your vision your passion. All the very best for your future courses.

  2. Haley,
Thank you for your post. I agree that it is important to make families feel welcome, respected, and appreciated because we all want to feel that way. I also hope that with all of the resourced available we can empower children to bring about the social justice that so many have worked and fought far.

  3. Haley, what a wonderful world we would live in if all children learn at a young age to accept everyone. I wish and pray for that. I want to be one of the teachers that brings this to life. We as a team can do it! Good luck on your future.
